Welp, this was a nice revisit to a lil sequence I loved the moment I saw it. This is just something I wanted to do for fun while I work on the fluster stuff and other things.
For those of you that don’t know, this was a little scene in a Age of Empires pony cross over video. I never played the game myself, but this little animated bit hit my kinks in all the right places, so I just had to revisit this little gem.

It is pretty intentional. I love that sort of look of giving in on characters faces once they’ve died. Whether the death was instant or a little bit drawn out.
I can dig giving my character’s corpse’s open eyes and such, but nothing past that. Like those horror death stares or anything. I think those are a bit tacky.
