So are the ponies with more horse-like faces gonna be a permanent thing on your style?

More or less! I’ve been doing a lot of horse studies since I love their natural build. It’s also a lot more fun imo to draw them this way.

Also, if I want to do a more MLP style pone, I can switch approaches. I’m just not a fan of the mlp formula.

Opinion on keeping two separate blogs for either gore/grimdark vs everything else, or nsfw (including gore/grimdark) vs sfw? Do you think it's worth the effort/upkeep to have two blogs?

I wrote out a mad long response to this but then my browser backed out and I lost all of it, so now I’m turnt.

Keep the two separate was the basic gist of the message. It’s not worth the hassle to keep SFW and NSFW together, especially if you want to show your work to anyone who might be interested.

It kinda sucks to tell people in person that I’m a digital illustrator and then not have a blog that’s totally okay to show off in public and be proud of. Showing people a grim blog isn’t the way to get into the industry.

Not unless you plan on doing what I plan on doing, but I’m not letting anyone know my secret plans to rule the world.

If you started a blog with SFW content and NSFW content at the same time, then it may become the expected narrative of your blog and no one would really care that much. At least not the people who know what they’re getting themselves into.

Still, it’s unfair to couple the two together imo. It’s better to have 2 blogs.

This is coming from someone who wished they started with a SFW art blog first.

Any tips of an artist hoping to wiggle their way into the snuff/necro/gore type of niche?

Get ready to feel like no one pays attention to what you do for a long time.

Devotion to this kind of thing is something you’re definitely going to need. This isn’t something you do to get the likes or to get popular. This is something that is serving a community of mostly insecure viewers.

I’m not insulting or faulting them for that either. It’s not something most people are willing to admit that they are into, and if they are, they might have some fucked up inner conflicts that they’re dealing with. This is all speaking from experience.

So first tip is to get used to the fact that this is about helping people in this community, and it’s about enjoying it openly. It isn’t about anything else other than that.

Second tip is something most artists will say whenever it comes to sticking with content, but just KEEP doing it. If this is what you like to do, and this goes for just about ANYTHING in life, give it 100% of what you got and be genuine about it. This should be something that you don’t have to think about. Do it and get better.

How do you feel on poison? Not really the painful sort. More of the "Huh, I drank poison. Oooooo, lots of pretty colors." Dead. Kinda poison. With maybe a longer period of the pretty colors and losing strength.

I’m good with Poison stuff. Poison can be a lot of fun!

So you like the asteitic of the cold inanimate body, but not idea of suffering on an individual. You ever look into like anatomy classes it may intreasts you? No idea of your schooling, sorry for the rambeliness

Well, I guess you can say that? I’m not really 100% into the coldness of it all. I can appreciate it in a good number of contexts, but like, I’m not into morgue stuff. I’ve drawn it before, but I’m not into ice cold bodies or anything. Living Dead is also stuff I don’t really like.

I just like limpness and interim events. Their death makes a big difference in how arousing the situation is as well. I’m not into hanging all that much, I kinda find it boring. The more expressive a body can be from the death, the more into it I can be!

I can’t really explain why that is, but there’s just something about the whole crumbling process that I like.
